For discussion of our favorite movie ever.

    You can watch it here.

Feel free to talk about anything from the incredibly deep message at the beginning to the Minnesota Vikings reference.

In the words of Officer Jenny: "Guys, this is the worst storm ever."

The entire thing with Mewtwo speaks to the faults of cloning and genetic engineering in a way presentable to every audience.

The ending, why it inspired awe when I was a child, seems more subpar now. It has a lot of good points, but then again, almost everything they saw against Mewtwo applies to themselves more and solidies Mewtwos anti humanity views in my opinion. He seems correct on most assumptions.

Also, when Team Rocket watch the video from the start, how was that still on the machine? And how did Mewtwo rebuild the island?

It also speaks of powerful weapons in general, how they can backfire.

I don't remember the ending, so I have to finish watching it.

I'm voting magic for both of those.

And do you agree with me that Mew is ADHD?

Mew is a confusing character. While obvious unintelligent and childish, speaking to the fact that powers of the universe such as it should only be possessed by the unthinking universe itself or a perfect being, he makes a speech. His speech is proven wrong though, when Mewtwo actually proves his clones equal in heart, but obvious superior in natural prowess.

Mew is actually a good reason why kids should be in charge of things. The only problem is that they're so impressionable that adults could easily impart their ideas and then that whole idea would be ruined.

The ending makes the beginning kind of confusing if you put them side-by-side.

I'm realizing that. The end started, and I got mixed up, and thought my computer was showing an earlier scene again.

Wow, I just realized that we're actually getting a lot of really deep stuff. Out of a Pokemon movie, of all things.

We should do this for the other two good ones as well, don't you think?

The first three are the only ones I remember. I am going to watch the TV special, Mewtwo's Return or whatever if I can find it. I don't recall any movies after the third one to see if they are worth any merit.

    (I should be writing a report...Nah. Later.)

I have to consider the fact that Mewtwo erased their memories....why?

I don't know the order they came out. Should probably look that up.

The three good ones were this one, the one with Lugia and the three birds, and the one with Entei, right?

(I should be writing my oratory. Or at least coming up with a topic.)

Hmm... That's a good question. I'll answer it when I finish watching.

Those are the ones I was thinking of, but I just remembered other ones I saw, mostly out of boredom.

Not much philosophy that I remember. May watch if procrastination forces it, but will certainly watch pokemon 2000, then maybe start the paper. (Though the entei one has more philosophy then the the second movie, I think.)

I remember Pokemon 2000 being my favorite when I was little.

I'm probably going to be obsessed with Pokemon for the next few weeks.... Ah well, it isn't a bad thing.

Pokemon 2000 was halfway over on the tv, and is what made me want to watch these again. A good one. Can't remember much about the main villain though.

....Oh my lord, that was ten years ago.

    It was on TV?!

The main villain was a collector, wasn't he? And he wanted to collect the birds and *maybe* Lugia?

    What channel was it on?

Say... Can you find any reason that the cloning machine resembles a nautilus? It must be important in some way, but I'm drawing a blank.

They are a superior species with a form so excellent it remained unchanged for millions of years? The machine makes clones which are superio, but outside appear the same.

How the heck did Ash break the machine by biting one of the little mechanical arms?
